Wightman & Parrish

Wightman & Parrish - Plastic Free Champion

Wightman & Parrish are thrilled to announce we are now a Plastic Free Champion! We were assessed and then awarded by the Charity Surfers Against Sewage.

Surfers Against Sewage, in conjuction with Plastic Free Eastbourne, are a  community dedicated to the protection of oceans, waves, beaches and wildlife.

Plastic Free Eastbourne promote initiatives to improve the way we care for our planet. They believe in taking action with urgency in order to raise public awareness about some of the most pressing issues facing our environment. Their main aim is to make Eastbourne carbon-neutral by 2030.

To achieve the Plastic Free Champion Award a business needs to remove at least three single-use plastic items (eg. plastic bags, coffee cups and plastic drinks bottles) and show a commitment to tackling any others present in the business going forwards, which is exactly what Wightman & Parrish have done. We now have no single-use plastics in our staff breakrooms, having made changes such as replacing plastic spoons with wooden stirrers.

Earlier in 2022, two of our teams took part in Park Cleans, volunteering for Plastic Free Eastbourne. You can read more about this here.

Wightman & Parrish are hoping to continue to work with Plastic Free Eastbourne as part of our own sustainability goals, and to provide our customers with the most sustainable Health & Hygiene products available.
