Sustainability: Are you buying responsibly?

Environmental impact is now a major concern for today’s UK businesses.

73% say reducing the environmental impact of their hygiene products already guides their decision-making – a factor set to take on even more significance in the future (1).

84% of businesses already have sustainability goals in place (1).

Every day we weigh the impact of our decisions in an ever-changing world.

Wightman & Parrish are passionate about our sustainability journey through social, ethical, and moral responsibilities. One of the ways we do this is to offer sustainable alternatives to our customers, and also by reducing our environmental footprint. Wightman & Parrish can do this by using key suppliers, such as Kimberly-Clark Professional™.

How are you preparing for the future?

Kimberly-Clark Professional™, can help you to reduce your environmental footprint through responsibly sourced raw materials and reduced supply chain footprint:

Their washroom and wiper dispenser systems reduce consumption by delivering precisely what’s needed to do the job.

Forest Biodiversity

KC's virgin fibre is 100% third-party certified, upholding responsible forestry management, they have received the highest rating of 3 Trees on WWF's Timber Scorecard for three consecutive years and many of their products contain FSC and/or Eco Label certification.

By responsibly-sourcing fiber, KC help protect rare old-growth forests and the plants, animals, and the rights of indigenous peoples who rely on the forests

Energy

Kimberly-Clark Professional™ are reducing use across all operations, investing in renewable sources like solar and wind, and utilising higher efficiency cogeneration units.

In 2021 they signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) that will lead to the construction of a new wind farm owned by Octopus Renewables Infrastructure Trust that will make almost 80% of all its electrical power consumption in the UK renewable.

Technologies

KC's innovative Airflex™ technology creates a more open and absorbent wiper and hand towel, resulting in up to 17% less fiber required to achieve the same performance, that means less product needed.

Plastic Packaging

The majority of their plastic packaging contains 30% recycled content and as founding members of the UK Plastic Pact they are committed to 100% of their packaging being reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2025.
